Hi List, I am starting my research in Scotland now. I have been researching since 1993 but I am only accustomed to US, Canada and England research. I do not know if there is any cost to look at a film. I am disabled so cannot get to FHC in this rural county. Now, my question. If anyone is going to GRO or has a way of looking at the films while they are doing their own research, could someone check on a name for me and tell me what the name says? On ScotlandsPeople, it is transcribed as Robert SCOTT 20/08/1769. I am hoping that is a mistake and the name is Robina. I can see where a transcription error could be made with that name. The sex for Robert is U. There is a Douglas line "somewhere" in Robina Scott's lines from what I have been able to find but all research stops with Robina and her husband, James EWING. I have ordered their marriage record. Here is the information from ScotlandsPeople. There are 2 Roberts with the same parents and birth dates. Just Frame number is different, for some reason. I think they are the same person.
