    1. Re: SCOTT-D Digest V06 #2
    2. Searching for the parents of Daniel Scott born in either SC or NC (both states on different census). He married his wife, Rhoda Lanham in Ohio County, KY on 13 January 1814. On the marriage consent signed by Rhoda's mother Rachael (Gates???) Lanham Nichols it looks like a W. preceded the name Daniel. William is a common Scott given name and this could have been William Daniel Scott, but not proven as he never used the name William. Daniel and his wife Rhoda were last listed on the 1870 IL Census in Sacramento, White County, IL. They were born ca 1792 (Daniel) and 1796 (Rhoda) and must have died prior to the 1880 census. No place of burial has been found, but there is an Ebenezer Cemetery in Norris City, White County, IL that is close to the town of Sacramento. By the 1820 Illinois Census they lived in White County, IL. Their known children are Elias (1815-1850), Melinda (1819-1878), Lucinda (1821-1883), Mary "Polly" (1823), John J.(1825), Elizabeth (22 Oct 1827--12 Sep 1845) and Meander (1829--died after 1882 and prior to 1900). One missing son could have been William who moved to Arkansas at an early age. Meander's name could have been Cornelius Meander as he named his first son Cornelio's M. Scott. Any information is appreciated. Darlene Shawn
