William Scott was born circa 1787 in Kentucky. He married Mary Kidwell born cir 1811 probably in Giles Co., TN. about 1836. He and Mary had at least 5 children: Sarah E. born cir 1837 Louisa Jane born cir 1838 Lydia (Melissa) born circa 1840 James J. born circa 1842 Mary born cir 1848 Josephine born circa 1851 I do not know when William Scott died. I haven't found him after 1850. He was about 24-25 years older than Mary Kidwell, so I assume that William could have been married previously and possibly had children. Judy Sanders
