There are several John Thomas Scott descendancy lines listed on Ancestry.com which you should check out if you haven't already. Just go to ancestry.com and then use the search engines to find him. However, there was an article published in the Union Co SC Heritage Books that tells a little about the family. I will copy the first two paragraphs for you here........... The John Thomas Scott Family The first Scott family on record was the John Thomas Scott family. He was of English descent. He arrived here from Virginia in the early 1800's. He owned slaves and farmed a plantation between Jonesville SC and Union SC. John Thomas Scott was married twice. The name of his first wife is not known. This wife bore two children, (John) Lee Scott and Martha June (Scott)Puckett. Lee had a farm on Pacolet River near Pacolet, SC. Martha June married a Methodist Minister, Rev. Miles Puckett. He was the Junior Pastor of the Jonesville Charge. John Thomas' second wife was Jamima Smith from York County.......... The article goes on to list the children and tell - in some instances - what happened to them. I have tried to include the basic facts in the family listing above. I visited a descendant of John Thomas Scott who still lives in the Jonesville area of Union Co SC a few years ago. He was very helpful......he met me at the New Hope Methodist Church/Cemetery and pointed out some of the Scott descendant graves. His family still owns the old homeplace which is directly across the street from the church. I would like to know as much as possible about John Lee Scott who married a Mitchell widow with two children: Martha Ann and William. Thanks, Maria
