James A. Scott is my brick wall. My GGGrandfather was James A. Scott that married Martha Elizabeth Murphy in Tallapoosa county, AL in 1854. The 1860 census has as his birthplace GA. They have a daughter named Marthena, a son James Spencer, and a daughter named Elizabeth Frances. In 1870 these three children and three more named Lujuda S., Matilda Jane, and John Wesley are in Etowah county, AL in the John Dismuke household. James A. and Martha E. have both died.
