Every now and then, a list subscriber asks if it is okay to post a message that isn't specifically about a SCOTT surnamed individual or family. Sometimes, the message clearly isn't appropriate for our list. Other times, it be relevant. Here is a tip about Census Lookups that may prove valuable to your SCOTT research. Even though this tip isn't specifically for SCOTT surnames alone, from my own experience I know that the US Census is a valuable resource for finding our SCOTT relations and extended families (but always take census data with a bit of salt). Sometimes it may be difficult to locate in your local library the census for the locale and date you're interested in. This tip widens your resources beyond those in your town.
