I have identified the subscriber sending the virus attachements and have removed him/her from the subscription list. I have also blocked any messages from this subscriber from getting to the list or the person re-subscribing. This should prevent further problems from this source. I have not yet determined the full nature of the virus or if the person sending the virus was aware they had it. I have not yet determined how the sender was using our list to distribute the virus - Rootsweb isn't supposed to let file attachments through on mailing lists. I have not yet found a good description of the virus or how to remove it from any of the antivirus websites. If someone finds one, please let me know. Please do not download/open any files you are not expecting to receive - whether they are from friend or stranger. Keep your antivirus software up to date and running!
