I am sorry to say I do not have information about the father of your John Scott. I am writing in response to your posting because it is the first posting that positions Scotts in the areas and at the times I am interested in, namely Virginia, Carolinas, Kentucky late 1700's. Did your John2 or Joshua have a son William or grandson William who might have married in northern KY in about 1816? Does your family have any known connection to the Thorntons?
