Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to the list and thought I'd mention my line in case anyone can help me. I have 3 ancestors whose names were James Scott George, born between 1820 and 1860. The earliest was born "somewhere" in Ireland; the rest in Philadelphia, Pa. I have no concrete proof that Scott was a family surname, but I have also never come across that as a common first name for men during that time period, so I'm assuming it may have been a surname. My question then, for the list, is... Anyone have any Scott's in their line who married into a George, Wilson or Irvine line in Ireland in the early 1800s?
