My earliest known Scott ancestor is William who married Mary Thornton in KY (Mason County?) ca. 1815. Large family, moved to IN briefly and then to Macon Co. (Decatur) IL. My gg grandfather married Sarah Sheppard there. Sheppards were from OH. Maureen Solomon
