Dottie, I am ALWAYS interested in making contact with anyone who is researching SCOTTS in GA, so your post regarding Col. William SCOTT is much appreciated. I am researching my husbands ggg grandfather, Britain SCOTT of Emanuel County, GA. He was born between 1795-1799 - about the same time period as Col. William's son Robert G. SCOTT. I believe Britain was born in GA, but I do not know where. Also, I do not know who his parents were. He was in Emanuel County as early as 1814, according to county records. He was head of household in 1820. Britain married Nancy PRICE in 1816. They raised their family in Emanuel County, and as far as I know, they both died in that county.
