My grand uncle William Tate (Tait), according to family history was on the Chicago Police Force. He was cut down by mafia machine gun fire. My guess is that happened about the turn of the century---1900 plus or minus. His sister was my grandmother - a Scott. Does anyone have suggestions or answers on the following" 1.
