I am descended from Daniel and Rhoda (Lanham) Scott. They were probably born in SC, but have been listed as being born in NC also. They were married in Ohio County, KY on 13 Jan 1814. Parents of Rhoda were Richard and Rachael (?) Lanham. Daniel and Rhoda Scott were in White County, IL on the 1820 census and remained in IL for the rest of their lives. They lived in Hamilton, White, Saline and Gallatin and it is not known where they actually lived at the time of their deaths, but probably died between the 1870 and 1880 census as they were not found on the 1880 census. The were in their late 70's on the 1870 census. Daniel and Rhoda had ca 8 children. We have Elias, Melinda, Lucinda, possibly Richard or Thomas (in question-Richard because Rhoda's father was Richard and Thomas because they name is used in the Scott Family), John J., Elizabeth and Meander Scott. Meander Scott is my g-g-grandfather. We have Scott Researchers who descend from Elias, Melinda, and Meander who correspond and try to put the puzzle together. Sometimes we do find pieces that fit and we are striving for a well researched family history. We are searching for the names of Daniel's parents, but have not been successful to date. Any info is appreciated. Darlene Shawn
