    3. What happened to this Alexander Scott and James Scott, sons of James Scott? JAMES SCOTT, 17??-1782, brother of the Rev. Alexander Scott, his wife SARAH BROWN SCOTT, 1715-1784, and their son WILLIAM SCOTT, are thought to have been buried in the three original unmarked graves in the Dipple section. We think the slabtop one, long since unreadable, is the son William. Sarah was the daughter of Dr. Gustavus and Frances Fowke Brown, of "Rich Hill", Charles County, Maryland. The first five of the nine children of Rev. James Scott were born at Dipple. James moved in about 1745 to become Rector of Dettingen Parish in Prince William County, where he remained until his death 37 years later. He inherited from his brother William 8,623 acres and 30 slaves. His nine children were Helen, ALEXANDER, Catherine, James, Christian, John, Robert, William, and Gustavus. Many of his descendants still live in that area. Thank you, Herb Scott
