Please read below some Scott infomration that I hope will help me find my connections. I have joined the many at the Scott brick wall, and could use some listers help. Looking to see if Alexander Scott and John Scott are related as they are both born in NY and per census 3 years apart. Also if there is anything on Alexander Scott that someone could share with me. Also trying to find out what became of the children of Alexander and Elizabeth: (all probably born in or near Mercer Co. and they are there in census during this time) Alexander Scott b. 1826 (per census) and Elizabeth McDowell-Scott b. 1829. Abraham Scott b. 1853 Joseph b. 1856 Sarah E. b. 1859 James b. 1863 1860 Mercer County Ft. Recovery Twp Ohio Census pg 37 Alexander Scott 35 M Farmer 230 NY Elizabeth 29 F Ohio Abraham 7 M Ind. Joseph 4 M Ohio Sarah 9/12 F Ohio (Joseph married Mary Elnora Franklin. They moved on to Indiana - ending up in Daviess County. This is my direct line. Mary E.’s parents: George Franklin and Harriett E. Greene, married in Mercer County in 1858 and are found in Jay County Indiana Census of 1870. ) The McDowells are found in Scioto Twp, Jackson County, Ohio Some lived there prior to moving to Mercer County. There are some Scotts mentioed there too. An Alexander Scott is listed on a census, but not sure who he is. Maybe relative to my Alexander, and maybe they all traveled to Mercer county together. John Scott is also listed in the same census, with his birth still NY, and both Parents births NY NY. I haven’t found Elizabeth in 1880 yet. She may be living with someone else.
