    2. Searching for the parents and siblings of Daniel SCOTT. His name could have been William Daniel Scott based on a marriage consent signed by his wife's mother, Rachael Lanham. On the consent it looks like the mother referred to him as Wm. Daniel Scott, even though William has never been listed in any other known document. Daniel was born ca 1792 in either South Carolina or North Carolina (listed both ways on census records). He married Rhoda "Rhodie" Lanham on 13 January 1814 in Ohio County, KY. Rhoda Lanham was the daughter of Richard and Rachel (Gates???) Lanham of Ohio County, KY. This couple was in White County, Illinois on the 1820 Census and remained in and around that county until their deaths after the 1870 Census. They lived in Hamilton and Gallatin Counties also. Children born of this union are: Elias Scott (Cordelia Hampton Douglass), Melinda (Smith Douglass), Lucinda (1. Nathan Gholson, 2. Thomas B. Yates); Mary "Polly" (James Shaw), John J. (Lucy J. Summers), Elizabeth (Coleman Miner) and Meander (1. Pricilla A. Mayberry, 2. Harriet Trissie Douglass, 3. Hannah C. Yates, 4. Lydia J. Coker Hammontree). There is one unknown son and it is believed his name was William Scott, who moved to Arkansas. I descend from Meander Scott whose given name could have been Cornelius Meander as he named his first son that name. I descend from his second wife Harriet Trissie Douglass and they are my great-great-grandparents. Their only child was William Sylvester Scott, my great-grandfather who was born in White County, Illinois. Any information pertaining to this family would certainly be appreciated. Darlene Shawn

    2. Sam Scott
    3. Hi Linda: Can you double check the heritage article? There is a Greene Co. NC(formed 1799 from Glasgow) and named for Gen. Nathaniel Greene. He fought the Battle of Guilford Court House which saved North Carolina from the British. Greene Co. is in the eastern section of the State and is bounded by Pitt, Lenoir, Wayne and Wilson counties. Greenwill Co. never existed to my knowledge. Also cannot find Moven NC on state map or Mapquest. Maybe disappeared. Any children listed for Robert T. Scott and Elizabeth Ann Parsons? 1. SCOTT Agnes - Scotland - born c.1730
    2. Julia Crawley
    3. My g-g-g-g-grandmother Agnes SCOTT [died 1791] was the daughter of JOHN SCOTT and MARION BAILLIE of Belford, in the parish of Morebattle, county Roxburgh, Scotland. JOHN SCOTT'S father was CHARLES SCOTT who was the second son of SIR JOHN SCOTT the first baronet of Ancrum. These details come from a book I have called "The House of Cockburn" published in 1880. I am trying to find out more about Agnes's family Agnes married THOMAS COCKBURN [1723-1787] on 3rd Dec 1752 in Edinburgh. He was Deputy Keeper of the Great Seal of Scotland and I have details of most of their descendants. If anyone is connected to this Scott family I would be pleased to hear from them. 3. Great information on many Scott lines the last few days! But, can anyone help with the following? Have been searching for any data on NANCY SCOTT ( or could be known as Agnes) and her family (parents, siblings if any, etc). She may have been born about 1800. She was married to Christopher Jr. by Pastor John Hutchinson, Presbyterian Congregration, Mifflintown and Lost Creek, Pennsylvania, on April 20, 1820. Thank you.

    2. Mark Milligan
    3. Hi, Well David has motivated me to post my brick wall. I am specifically looking for the War of 1812 war records of my 3rd great grandfather, Robert Scott. Robert's grave at Kilgore Presbyterian Church Cemetery identifies him as a veteran of the War of 1812. From other sources I have received information about his service, but in both cases when I requested a <JavaScript:c_d(c_1,new%20Array(%221-FMKS%22,%22s_1_2_3_3%22,%22SWERowId0=1- FMKS%22),c_2,c_3,this)> Federal Military Pension Applications - Complete File from the NARA the files were not my Robert. I believe that Robert's wife, Elizabeth Munnell did make application for a bounty land warrant because in her will she divided up 400 acres of land in Missouri to her heirs. I have gone over the War of 1812 rosters at the PA Archives for any Robert Scott and have submitted requests to the NARA with no luck. I moved to Ohio's War of 1812 rosters and submitted requests for all Robert Scott's that served from Ohio and once again no luck. I am now working on a list from Virginia. My Robert Scott was born in 1782 in Washington Co Pa to Josiah Scott and Jane Gordon. He married Elizabeth Munnell on 22 Nov 1804, probably in PA. In 1827 they came, with nine of their living children, to Ohio and settled in that part of Harrison County that is now included in Carroll County. Robert died in 1830 in Harrison County, OH. If anyone has any information on this Robert Scott's military service in the War of 1812, I would surely appreciate any assistance. Thank you Mark Milligan
