Scott group: Just a note to tell you that our Scott Family DNA group now has 35 test takers representing several different Scott lines. DNA testing is one way to break down your brick wall. If you have any interest in our project let me know. I have a database of many of the ancestors of our group. I will be glad to check your ancestors against the people in our database regardless if you do the DNA testing or not. Just drop me a note mentioning your early ancestors--names, dates, places, spouse's maiden names. Thanks--Charlie Scott--Scott Family DNA project coordinator

She died, I believe in Okla in abt 1910 as Minnie Scott Mayberry. She had seven children. I believe her fathers name was Jesse & it is said that she had a twin brother. Can anyone help. This is one of my biggest brick walls. Thanks a lot. Janet Janet, there is an entry on Ancestry.com listing Minnie Dell Scott was born in MO in 1884 and died 1910 in Alamosa, CO. She married Howard Mayberry, son of Charles Wesley Mayberry and Mary Ella Huston. The only child listed by Jayne Maddy on Ancestry.com was Charles Millard Mayberry who was born 3 Jun 1906 in Wetumka, OK and died April 1975 in Oklahoma City, OK. I have an email for Jayne if you would like to contact her. Another entry in OneWorldTree listed five children and one unknown, John Alvan, Gladys, Charles Millard, Juel Raymond, Unknown Mayberry, and Leland Mayberry. John was born on 4 Sep 1903 in OK and the other were also born in OK. On the 1910 Census for 1WD, Wetumka Town, Hughes County, OK, Dist 114 you will find the family of Howard MOBERRY with wife Minnie and four children. Minnie tells the census taker that she had 7 children but there are only 4 living at the time the census was taken. The children are: Alvin, Gladys, Charles and Leland. The census was taken 16 April 1910. All the children were born in Oklahoma. Howard and Minnie were listed as being married 8 years and it was the first marriage for both. Howard is listed as being born in Misouri as were his parents. There is a C. W. Moberry listed on the same page with his wife Mary E. They have been married 31 years and there is one son listed with them, named Ralph. Mary E. stated that she had 4 living children. These are probably Howard's parents. However C. W. is listed as being born in New Jersey as were his parents. His occupation was listed as owing a lumber yard. Minnie's parents are listed as being born in Missouri Best of luck!!! Darlene
Hi Janet, I did a little research for you on your Minnie Dell Scott to help with that brick wall !!!!!! I found on the 1900 Census a Bessie Robins her husband John Robins. She had a brother Jesse Scott both Bessie and Jesse Born May 1884. This may be nothing but you never know. Bessie had a son Willie b/1899. Bessie had been married 2 years. Could Bessie be a nickname ? And you think the father was Jesse- Nothing on Mayberry. Census; 1900 New Madrid Co. Mo. pg 140b Jesse Scott is on 1910 New Madrid Co. Pg 165a But can't read the census.
