The DAR Patriot Index lists an Abraham Scott who was born 1753 MD. He died about 2/5/1845 in PA and m (1) Malinda Hall & (2) May Ann ------. He was a Capt and had a pension. You can send for the Application papers of the DAR member who listed Abraham as their ancestor patriot. It costs about $5. My James W. Scott (finally learned his name!!) was married to Mourning C. Currey. When he died, their orphaned William Oliver Scott lived with an Aunt Nancy Rachel Currey Willard and her husband Dustin Willard. This all took place in Amite, MS. My information is that James W. and Mourning were married July 8, 1841 in Amite Co., Miss. They died before Sept 21 1860 - William Oliver was listed as an orphan and living with the Willards at that time. Family history says James W. Scott was working on a Mississippi Riverboat on the Mississippi River when a timber he was loading onto the boat fell on him and killed him. Also, William Oliver was supposed to have a brother, John. Mary Ann SCOTT married Alfred WOOLDRIDGE, 06 April 1838 in Russell County, KY. Andrew SCOTT signed the marriage bond. Could this have been her father or her brother? I am stuck here.
