    1. [SCOTT] SCOTT Levi Thomas IN>IL>New Sharon Iowa 1816 - 1896
    2. Ron Macdonald
    3. Searching for parents of Levi Thomas Scott b.5/8/1816 in Indiana. He m. Nancy Doyle 3/14/1839 in Peoria, Illinois. They moved to New Sharon, Iowa. Levi d.4/20/1896. Son Isaac Newton Scott was born in Illinois 6/1/1844, probably around Bushnell McDonough County area. Suspect the name Newton was a family name rather than naming his son after the scientist. Family lore says Levi Scott's father may have been William C. Scott, his mother Jane M. The family is very musical and it is said that Levi's father was in the war of 1812 and that the family moved to Indiana with one of the land grants. My grandmother (Levi's granddaughter) Rose Emily Scott (Rosemonde) once wrote that she had a parchment land grant that had been in the family but it has disappeared. I have a hand written, but undated and unsigned list of some possible Scott relatives. They are: John Scott, wife Susie Mindie - Uncle Jack buried in Bushnell. Ida Efline Ed Efline - Fredonia Kan Lewis Lee Eflin - Moran Kan, gone, wife living in Los Angeles Lena Eflin - married Inman buried Hopkins, MO Pearl Eflin Archie Eflin - Kansas City - still living son Elmer Daisy Lacey - lives in Moran boy Washington DC Claire in govt work Boy Topeka Delbert two girls - Kansas Ackley Fleming Mabel Johnston - near Oskaloosa Irma Watkins - Long Beach Floyd Eflin - Colorado Springs Elizabeth Harbert - Benedict, NE Any help appreciated, have photos of Isaac Newton Scott and his wife Nancy Doyle and some letters from I.N. Scott.

    1. [SCOTT] J.H. Scott
    2. I am searching for my Scott ancestors from Alabama. My grand mother was Eva Lena Scott born Sept 22, 1881 in Marshall County, Al. She married M.E. Gay. Her parents were Martha Indiana Windsor, born March 11, 1852, and John Henry Scott, born June 15, 1851. I just found an ancestor chart that my mother completed in 1981. She lists J. H. Scott as being father to John Henry Scott but no other information such as birthdate or place. She lists Benjamin Scott as being father to this J. H. Scott again no other information. Do any of you have any information on this line? I would appreciate any help that you are able to give. thanks, Anna Hite

    3. Hello Scott researchers. I've come to ask for some help on Samuel Benjamin SCOTT born 1864 in Alabama. Sometime he moved to Henderson County Texas and married Lucy Jo CARTER, b. 1880, d. 1949. I found their marriage record of October 20, 1897 in VanZandt Co., TX. In 1900 they are on Henderson Co., TX census with 2 children. Alma b. 1886 (has to be a child from a previous marriage for Sam, as Lucy was only 6 then) and Clarence b. May 1899. In 1910, they are in Eastland Co., TX. with Clarence C. son, and Walter son. I am finding information about Lucy, but nothing about Sam. Does anyone know when and where he died? Does anyone anything about Sam's first marriage? ANY help would be greatly appreciated, and thank-you! Holly Homan

    3. Your e-mail asked: "Could it be that there is an easy answer to these questions??? ----Nah!! That would be too simple!!" William Scott was born December 15, 1756 in Caroline County, VA, the son of Thomas Scott and Martha Williams, he died October 6, 1818 in Campbell Co., Va. He married Ann Jones, the daughter of Martha Waller and Gabriel Jones on March 1, 1781. The wedding was held at the William Waller home in Mount Pleasant, Spotsylvania, and the Reverend W. Dick performed the ceremony. She was born March 13, 1763 and died June 18, 1846 in Lynchburg, VA I am descended from this family also. Would like to share information. Bill Scott

    3. The earliest of my ancestors, in the family line below, about which I have any amount of information, is Ann Stannard COBBS, who was b. 8-24-1824, probably somewhere (Campbell Co.??) in Virginia. Her daughter, Fanny E. COX was born in Campbell Co., 5-16-1846!! Ann's parents were Charles Lewis COBBS, b. 3-12-1800 in Campbell Co., Va., and Anne M. 'Lucy' SCOTT, about whom I have no information, otherwise, except the names of her parents, below. Anne M. 'Lucy' SCOTT was the daughter of Wiiliam SCOTT and Ann JONES. Where were Wiilam SCOTT, Ann JONES and their daughter, Anne M. 'Lucy' SCOTT each born?? Who were forebears of the married couple?? Who were Lucy's siblings??? Some other researcher claims that her ancestors 'fell from heaven' into Alabama, but I do not think these three arrived in that glorious fashion!! However, it is very possible that they were all born near Campbell Co., or other near-by areas of Virginia, and William would have to have been born (probably) before 1880, or so it seems, to me!! Could it be that there is an easy answer to these questions??? ----Nah!! That would be too simple!! So, you see, I am at an impasse!! Help!! Help!!
