Hello: My interest in Canada are Scottish, my Greatgranfather,Robert MUIR states in a census I read that he is full scotch, I have yet to find any substantial records in Canada. I know he lived in Canada (Wiarton,Ontario CAN. ) in the year 1881 and on because that was the year my Grandmother Alice Minerva MUIR/CRUMP was born. I realize that Canada can bew quite confusing especially in the earlier years as far as documentation is concerned. I would appreciate any suggestions that could help me gain more knowledge of his background. He states on a Census I read that he was born in Scotland, but I have yet to know what year and whom his parents were. I would also like suggestions for a Scottish Society to join so that I might learn more about the culture etc. Thank you in advance for any help that comes my way. I really appreciate it. I have been working on this branch of the family for about 6 years. I have yet to gain enough information to put my Family tree online.
