Robert Scott married Mary Gillmore (Gilmore/Gilmor) probably in Scotland. Mary Gillmore Scott is reportedly related to Mary Stuart, a sister of Charles Stuart, King of Scotland. That has never been proved. Robert and Mary had a son, John Gillmore Scott, who was born or christened in Amherst, Nova Scotia on June 14, 1773. Besides John Gillmore Scott, they had 2 others sons, William and Robert, as well as 6 daughters. Does anyone have some ideas on how I can find records of when Robert and Mary (Gillmore) Scott arrived in Nova Scotia?? Where did they live in Scotland before going to Nova Scotia?? Were they property owners?? Since Robert had at least one son (John Gillmore Scott) and one grandson (Solomon Johnson Scott) who were doctors, I wonder if he was a physician also. Any leads or help in finding this Nova Scotia family would be appreciated!!! One last note: John Gillmore Scott immigrated to America sometime before he married and before his son Solomon Johnson Scott was born on March 7, 1798.
