    3. Margaret. I have posted Instructions to Officers and Enumerators of Census for each Census of Canada (except 1881) from 1871 to 1941 on the Post 1901 Census Project Website at http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/index.htm Scroll down the home page and click on 'Links'. On the next page scroll down and click on 'Instructions to Officers and Enumerators of Census'. On the next page, choose the year you want and click on the link for it. Alternately, the direct URL for the page with the Census year links is at http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Ceninstruct.htm The Instruction files are in PDF format that requires the free Adobe Acrobat reader. Depending on the year, some of the files are quite large and on a dial up connection may take awhile to download. (The 1891 file is 27 pages) There may be the odd spelling error in the document due to misreading of my optical character recognition program, but other than that the documents are true to the original. I mention above that the Instructions for 1881 are not available. If anyone can advise me where I might find a copy of those Instructions I would appreciate it. I have been unable to find them in any of the libraries in my area. Happy Hunting. Gordon A. A friend of mine has a copy of the actual census sheets for a particular township, and he is puzzled as to some of the notations. Margaret ______________________________
