ATTENTION: Carol Trollope <[email protected]> Hi Carol, Take a look at the 1851 Census for Cumberland, Ontario as a place to begin. You might find them there on a farm as the town of Cumberland is not too far from Ottawa and I suspect that area. although rural, was much more populated than either Nova Scotia or BC in 1850. You should find what you are looking for in Carlton County records. I suspect you can get the Census through the LDS. The Archives of Ontario in Toronto may also be able to help there if you contact them..perhaps easier by letter right now Check their Web site.. http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/ . You might be able to borrow something through Interlibrary Loan from them. Check their site thoroughly to see what they have available. Right now they are on strike but that should end shortly. Hope that helps, Bob in Toronto ----- Original Message ----- From: Brian, Carol Trollope <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, May 02, 2002 8:22 PM Subject: [SCTCDN] MCDONALD, HYSLOP, 1850, Cumberland, Canada > Stymied with Charles McDonald, farmer from Ireland or Scotland, > married > to Polly Hyslop or Haislip or Heslop or ?, who had a son and > possibly > other Children, in Cumberland, Canada. > > Their son Charles McDonald was born in 1850 in Cumberland, > Canada, > wherever that is in that era. > > 1.
