    1. [SCTCDN] William and Elizabeth (THOMSON) RITCHIE, m1828 (HANNAH)
    2. Hello, This morning I discovered that my sister's research from several years ago had some incorrect names. She had found the possible parents for Elizabeth RITCHIE, b1837 in Scotland (or Ireland), were Andrew and Elizabeth (?) RITCHIE. But, at someone's suggestion, I checked the IGI records at the LDS web site, and discovered that Elizabeth's parents might have been: William RITCHIE and Elizabeth "Betty" THOMSON who were married in Feb. 1828 in Dundee, Angus, Scotland. I was wondering if anyone else was researching the family of William and "Betty" RITCHIE in Angus, Scotland, during the 1800's. If they were married there in 1828, and their daughter, Elizabeth, wasn't born until 1837, then there were probably other children born in the 1830's. If I stay within Dundee, there were four William RITCHIE's born in 1797, 1798, and 1805. Possible fathers were David, William, and John RITCHIE. If I stay within Dundee, the possible parents for "Betty" THOMSON were William and Christian (NICOLL) THOMSON. However, there were three other "Betty" THOMSON's, also born between 1795 and 1807. My ancestor, Elizabeth RITCHIE, probably married William HANNAH on Jan. 7, 1855, in "Barony Parish." William and Elizabeth HANNAH had one daughter, Mary Anna, b~1856, and a second daughter, Elizabeth, b. Apr. 1857. In August 1857, they migrated to Massachusetts and settled in Everett, MA. They had several more children there. Miss Elizabeth HANNAH married William KERR in Malden, MA, in 1876. They had six children. William KERR was part of an extended KERR / HENDERSON family which migrated from County Sligo, Ireland, to Argenteuil County, Quebec Province, Canada, in ~1824. .. My uncles and aunts INSIST that their KERR ancestors came from SCOTLAND, and no one is going to change their minds. :o) This might be partly true as the KERR's might have migrated from Scotland to Ireland in the 1700's. To get back to the RITCHIE surname, I'd like to find out whether my ancestor, Miss Elizabeth RITCHIE, b1837, Dundee?, had any siblings. And, I'd like to find out, if she had siblings, did they also migrate to either the USA or Canada. Thank you for your time. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) -- ... For my fellow-genealogists: This month I have discovered that the COMCAST E-Mailbox is totally USELESS !!! During next month I will be un-subscribing from all the Mailing Lists (20+) until I can figure out an alternative way of participating! But, I will check the Archives of each List every week to see if there are queries I want to respond to. Listsearches.rootsweb.com/cqi- bin/listsearch.pl?list=
