    3. Dear Malcolm and David Thank you for trying to lookup my surnames for me. I am not sure what else I can add to aid in the search. Their names are listed in the 1878 historical atlas of Perth county. It states that DONALD C. MUNRO arrived to Canada in 1855 and was living in Downie Township. Looking for a child by the name of Findlay in the family approximate age 10. JOSEPH SHEPPARD arrived in 1857 was a farmer and was living in Wallace township. Looking for a child Robert H. Sheppard approximate age 9 in 1881. Thank you both for the lookups. Maybe this information will help. Sincerely Barb

    3. Hi Barb, I wasn't able to find any Robert Sheppard of the right age, give or take two years, anywhere on the census. I did find a Findley Munro of the right age, but he doesn't seem to fit your other criteria. 3. Hi David, I accidentally deleted your message from the census. I had lots of ancestors in Ontario in 1881. All four of my grandparents came from there, but the only trace on the census is one great grandmother and one great grandfather. Some of my relatives have been in Ontario since the early 1880s, and their children and grandchildren are not in the census. I think they did a poor job in Canada in that census. My ancestors were pioneers in Bruce, Grey, and Prescott counties. They may have been somewhat isolated. It's frustrating. I allowed +/- 2 years on the age of Robert, but no luck anywhere in Canada. Could they have gone south of the border by then? Cheers! Malcolm
