    3. Hi Helene The Red River Settlement is now Winnipeg. But until 1970 there were smaller place that made it up. You could also check Kildonan, Selkirk and Provence. Another thing is to check the City of Winnipeg directory it includes a larger area then the census and it start in about 1884.
