Greetings All. I have, within the past five minutes, received a fax from the clerk of the Senate Standing Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology. This is the committee that is reviewing Senator Lorna Milne's Bill S-12 -- An Act to amend the Statistics Act and the National Archives of Canada Act (census records). The substance of the fax is that the delayed appearance of Dr. Ivan Fellegi, Chief Statistician of Canada, will take place on Wednesday 5 June 2002. The Committee is due to return the Bill to the Senate no later than 6 June 2002. We will look forward to seeing what Dr. Fellegi has to say.
