Ontario Canada Newspaper AbstractsCAMPBELL The following obituary notice taken from the Markham Economist of last week refers to the mother of Mr. Archie Campbell of this village: "In the deaths of Sarah Turner: relict of the late James Campbell, whoch occurred in the early hours of Thursday March 5 , 1903 Markham has lost another of its pioneer residents. The deceased who had just passed her 78th year was a native of Longford, Ireland coming to Canada when only 15 years old. She married at Montreal in 1845 to james Campbell then a member of the 71st Light Highland Regiment, stationed at Sorel, Quebec. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell lived at Sorel for several years then moved to what was then called Upper Canada, coming to Markham 37 years ago and the deceased has resided here continually since her husband dying 24 years ago. Death was due to general weakness of old age. Interment took place at St. Andrews Cemetery
