Hi All, I am searching for the origins of my 3gr-grandfather, Daniel LOVE. He came to Dundee, Dalhousie Parish, Restigouche County, New Brunswick, Canada abt. 1852. His eldest son, Alexander, is thought to have been born in Scotland and was nine years old when he came to Canada. He was born abt. 1842. The next son, Charles, was born abt. 1847. Then, James (my great-great-grandfather) was born abt. 1854 and the only known daughter, Mary, was born about 1857. I know nothing of Charles, except that he is listed on the 1861 census for the parish of Dalhousie, NB. Alexander married a woman by the name of Mary Ann BEBEE?/BEEBE?/BECHE?. I have their children. James married Annie DEWAR (b. abt. 1852), daughter of Duncan and Anne KERR of Barney's River, Nova Scotia. Their children: Daniel (1885 - my great-grandfther), Eva, Duncan, Edgar, Elizabeth Ann were all born at Dundee. The only thing I have to go on is Alexander's obituary and the 1861 census. Alexander died in Restigouche Cty in 1922 and his obituary says he was from Scotland and age nine when he came to New Brunswick. It is believed that Daniel's wife was named Elizabeth and that she was born abt. 1814. There is the possibility that Dalhousie Parish was not the original destination of this family; but, I have nothing to show otherwise at this time. It would be great to hear from anyone with any kind of leads, connections, information or suggestions for finding the origins of my family.
