I thought I'd repost my interests after a bit of a break. My gg grandmother was Catherine KAY born in Edinburgh. According to the 1861 London census, she would have been born c.1835. She had an older sister, Margaret, born c 1821. I have found a possible match, daughters of James KAY and Margaret FRASER, but the Catherine was baptised 1828. However, Margaret was baptised in the correct year. The other reason I think this may be the correct family, is that family tradition has always said that we have a link to the Fraser clan. James & Margaret were married 21st November 1812 at St Cuthberts, Edinburgh, and the 2 girls were baptised there. My other Scottish interest is for Cameron TAYLOR, my great uncle-by-marriage. He was born on the Isle of Skye during the 1890s. His father was apparently the Dominie, and Cameron moved to London and became an architect. We know nothing about his life and family in Scotland and would love to hear from any family. Sorry this is rather long winded, but hopefully someone else is researching one or the other of these families. Joanna in Coventry
