I have been searching for my gt. grandmother's baptismal record for years. Her name was Helen Duncan McEwen, parents James McEwen and Catherine nee Smith. She was born, according to family legend, at 2 High St, Perth in Nov 1848. GRO Scotland has no record of her baptism. They only hold Chuch of Scotland Old Parish Records. I have contacted various Episcopalian (Anglican) churches in Perth without success. The most likely venue for her baptism/christening was the Cathedral Church of St Ninian but no one at the National Archives, local archives or history centre knows where the old records for St Ninians are kept.
