John Clowden,born sept.30,1808 son of Robert clowden,smith in Auchencairn,and Jannet Aitken. Mary clouden,born 17th sept.1810,dau.of Robert Clouden, smith in Auchencairn,and Jannet Aitken. George Clouden,born 22nd of oct,1812 son of Robert clowden,smith in Auchencairn,and Jannet Aitken Samuel Clouden,born aug.2nd 1815, son of Robert clowden,smith in Auchencairn,and Jannet Aitken 2nd Nov.1780 John Kirkpatrick in upper Hazelfeild was married to Helen Clouden. The fact that James Maxwell ,a friend of Robert Mcleod ,Sept 2,1768,James,natural son of Thomas Maxwell and Mary Halliday. The second,The marriage proclamation,of 29th april,1773,that:William Clouden and Mary Holiday were married at Old Clouden. Thus we see that Mary Holiday had a son James Maxwell by an out of wed lock relationship with one Thomas Maxwell.When this son was four and one half years old Mary Holiday was married to William Clouden. 13th march ,1770, George, lawful son to William Aitken and Jannet Clark, in Cowans. 30th march,1772,Jean, lawful daughter to William Aitken and Jannet Clark,in Breconside. 20th march,1775,Robert,#1 ,lawful son to William Aitken and Jannet Clark,in Breconside. 1st september,1777,Jannet,lawful daughter to William Aitken and Jannet Clark,in Breconside. 12th december,1782,Elizabeth#1,lawful daughter to William Aitken and Jannet Clark,in Breconside. 6th may 1785,Mary#1,lawful daughter to William Aitken and Jannet Clark,in Breconside.George remained unmarried and died in 1824,at age 52.Jean is mentioned in the letters,and must have lived nearby.Robert is mentioned in Wm.Dornan's letter of march 1,1825.Jannet of course married our Robert Mcleod. Elizabeth,married a Thomas Dougan.
