My ancestor, John MACINTYRE, was born on Lismore in 1788. He was in the Navy during the Peninsular War and then went to Paisley in 1815. He married Janet SLOAN there and had two children, John Stevenson and Janet, before leaving for Canada in 1819. He settled in Lanark CountyOntario, Dalhouse Township. He left for Perth County in 1846 and settled near St. Mary's, Ontario where he died. Is anyone researching this family or the area of Lismore? Any help appreciated. Thank you.
