    3. I lived in Lachine (by the way it is one word, no capital), for a number of years, and yes, you may have a problem. If the children were actually born in Lacine, whether they were Catholic or not, they may have been registered at the local Catholic Church, or again at the City Hall. However, Lachine, is a suburb of Montreal, and while I lived in Lachine, my children were born in a hospital in Montreal. Ours were registered at the Montreal City Hall. My last child was born in Montreal, but we were living in a community about 25 miles south, and although we are not of the Angilcan (Episcopalian in the U.S.) persuasion, the Town Hall of that community had arranged for any births to be registered by the the local Anglican minister, so he was so registered. However, some years later when we sent to the Register of Births, the Province of Quebec, Quebec City, P.Q. we got the certificate all right, but it was entirely in French. We do not speak French. This will give you som! e idea of what you are up against. I too ,have a brick wall. and like you found, on the Mormon Ancestral File, what seemed to be just what I was looking for. I too, wrote the Submitter, only in my case my letter was not returned, nor did they answer, so I understand your frustation. I am afraid I have not been very helpful, but I wish you all the luck in the world. G.Webster
