Hi Folks, I have always been under the impression that my ancestors came from Northern Ireland. After many years of searching, I cannot find anything that leads me to believe it is so. I was even in contact with a "McElwee" genealogist in Northern Ireland who cannot find any births, deaths or marriages for my family members. On my G. Grandfather's Naturalization Papers, it states he was a subject of the Sovereign of "Great Britain." Could he have been born in Scotland and his family relocated to Ireland before coming to the US around 1876? The following is the information I have: G. Grandfather: Edward micelle, born December 1956 Parents: George McElwee and Isabella Maxwell McElwee Siblings" Bessie and Belle and another sister that I do not have her name. Naturalized: October 27th 1894 in the Court of Common Pleas, Fairfield County, Fairfield, CT. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would certainly appreciate it. Barbara (McElwee) McDonald
