James Forbes CRUICKSHANK was born in 1850 in Dundee, Scotland. He died on 29 Sep 1912 in Newport, RI. He was married to Elizabeth GOLDIE (daughter of David GOLDIE and Mary Ann BOATH) on 31 Dec 1872 in Dundee, Scotland (a). James and Betsy (as she was known) had 13 children. Elizabeth GOLDIE was born in 1850 in Dundee, Angus, Scotland. Betsy's parents were fisherman; her and her twin sibling were born on a boat. She died around 1918. James Forbes CRUICKSHANK and Elizabeth GOLDIE had the following children: +11 i. David CRUICKSHANK. +12 ii. John CRUICKSHANK. 13 iii. (Brother) CRUICKSHANK. 14 iv. Robert CRUICKSHANK. 15 v. James CRUICKSHANK. +16 vi. Joanne CRUICKSHANK. +17 vii. Mary Ann CRUICKSHANK. 18 viii. Elizabeth CRUICKSHANK. +19 ix. Jemima CRUICKSHANK. +20 x. George Forbes CRUICKSHANK. The marriage was definite since it mentioned James Forbes CRUICKSHANK; it was under the name Betsy Goldie. There was also the same name for the birth in the same town, so the assumption is that the names of David GOLDIE and Mary Ann BOATH is correct. I'm having problems using Familysearch.com to trace back further since GOLDIE and BOATH seem to have many entries with same names and places, but different dates, and I'm not sure which ones are the correct ones for me. Hoping to find someone with family history. Pete
