Hello Donna, my name is Sue Kado and I too am researching the Scott family in Banffshire. My ggrandfather, b 1859 was William Clapperton Scott. He emigrated to the USA about 1890. His father was William Reid Scott, b. 1824, married Mary Geddes. I have more information, including many old photos of these people I would gladly share if you think there is a connection. Contact me at sue@2ndstr.com Many thanks in advance. Sue

    3. Hi Dave, Thank you for your response. I don't have very much information on the ROSS connection, but Mary ROSS married William BIRSE (b c 1778 - Aboyne) on Nov. 11, 1804 in Strachan, Kincardineshire, Scotland. We know of 2 children - Alexander and William. I continue to look!! I'll keep this on file, and if I ever find a Gilcrest/Killecres/Killicross connection, will get in touch with you. 2. Margaret North
    3. I am fairly new to SCOT-ROOTS and my main interest is my DUNBAR line and I wonder if the following details strike any chords with anyone? My gt.grandfather was Henry DUNBAR born 20 Feb 1853 in Manchester. His father was George DUNBAR who would have been born about 1830/1 [in Manchester according to the 1871 census]. On his marriage certificate he gives his father as Henry DUNBAR a baker. The only IGI entry which may fit is that of the baptism of George DUNBAR on 23 July 1830 at Rafford, Moray the parents being Henry DUNBAR and Ann JUNKEN. They had other children - Alexander, Ann, Jane and Lewis. I cannot be certain yet that this bapt refers to my George and as yet have been unable to search for a baptism anywhere in the Manchester parish registers. Any help or advice would be appreciated. 2. I am searching for any scrap of ancestral material on Gilchrist aka Killicres, Killecross Ross. He arrived in Ipswich, MA in the early-mid 1600s and married Mary Gally of Beverly, MA. It is believed he was b. abt 1635, d. 1682-3 in Ipswich, Mary b. 1640, d. 1719/20, Ipswich. I have extensive information on his American descendants, but nothing on his Scottish Roots. I would be interested in hearing from Anyone researching the above clan who would be willing to share any information on Gilchrist and his ancestors. I will be glad to share what I have on this family with anyone who responds. D. Howe, Florida
