The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, Nova Scotia, October 8, 2019 Ronald Mathison "Ronnie" Mallon Born on June 29th, 1946 in Glasgow, Scotland, Ronnie passed away peacefully in hospital, on October 4, 2019, in Halifax, surrounded by family. Along with his wife, Linda and children, he imigrated to Nova Scotia in 1983, and settled in Dartmouth. Ronnie dedicated many years to serving others through his work in QEII Health Sciences Centre for almost 30 years, as well as the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, and the Refugee Committee ministries at SJXXIII Parish. He was a life-long supporter of Glasgow Celtic, and an avid reader and storyteller, who often seized the opportunity to regale his audience with a tale of his homeland and days-gone-by, but most importantly, Ronnie was a man of faith, and family. He was the son of the late James and Rose (Dougherty) Mallon. Surviving are his wife, Belinda Rose (McEwan); sons, Father James, Gerald (Mary); daughters, Deborah (Kevin) Kline, Sarah Louise (Brad) Mallon; grandsons, Liam Kline and Braydon Crooks; brother, James (Doreen); sisters, Elizabeth (Tommy) McHenry, Anne (James) McLevey, and Rose (Russell) Weir, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Brian. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11th in The Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen Street, Dartmouth from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 12th at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John XXIII Parish, 35 Colby Drive in Dartmouth, with his son, Father James Mallon presiding. A reception will follow in the church hall, burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.
