Nancy...May I ask which Scotts you are researching? I too am searching for a very elusive Scott who migrated to East New Jersey in 1684 from Montrose Scotland. His name was Alexander Scott , he died in 1700 leaving a widow Ellin , three children Elizabeth, Alexander and Samuel. They resided in Elizabethtown and Rahway NJ. The son Alexander moved to the south Branch of the Potomac, Augusta Co (now Hardy and Grant Co's WV) Alexander Scott has many descendants scattered over the US but not one of them seems to know where he came from in Scotland or who his parents were.
