I have a copy of a Marriage Proclamation Certificate dated 1864 which refers to the "1st. Congn. U. P. Church, Alloa". Would I be correct in assuming this stands for "1st. Congregational United Protestant Church"? If not can someone please enlighten me as to its true meaning?
