Hi Listers Just to update my Austin Research, here are my Austin Interests. James Austin born Govan Glasgow 1896. Father Joseph Austin (1872?)(Birth place Unknown). Mother Ellen Johnston (1874 Antrim Ireland)(died Govan, Glasgow 1904). Grandfather James Austin. Grandmother Annie Hamill. The parents of Ellen Johnston are Henry Johnston and Mary-Ann Boon from Antrim Ireland. I've lost Joseph Austin in Scotland and think he may have been born in Ireland, possibly Antrim. I have a copy of the 1881 Census and also Vital Records for U.K. if anyone needs a search done and would like to hear from anyone with the 1891 census who would be willing to do the same. I am also building a website dedicated to the name Austin and would like to hear from anyone who would like their details added to the site. The cost is: Copies of any U.K. records on CD-Rom or other electronically means which will also be added to the website as a searchable database. Hello Kenny. My maternal great grandfather was Horace AUSTIN, born 1779, probably in Scotland, but possibly in the United States. He is identified in family documents as coming to New Brunswick, Canada from the United states, perhaps after the Revolution. Many empire Loyalists came to New Brunswick in the mid to late 1780s. He would have been young and likely came with his parents. Not much information on him I'm afraid, but it is all I have. This is well before the dates in your message below. Any thoughts.
