Hi, I'm searching for any information on AITKEN families around the Borders. My g-g-g-grandfather was James AITKEN and he lived in Berwick around 1820. His occupation was "soldier" so he may have moved around a bit or come from another part of Scotland. He had a daughter, Mary Ann AITKEN, who was born at Castlegate, Berwick, around 1820. She married Anthony HALL, from Lucker/Lowick, Northumberland, on 27th January 1842, in South Shields, but as I have just found this information out I don't know if the family moved there or she moved there to get married as Anthony HALL had a bakers shop in Sunderland.
