Hi This is my first posting so hop I'm doing it right. I f not, would sks please let me know. I'm relatively new to research, only bit at it for just over year(part time) Here's what I know Catherine and Ronald McDonald(MacDonald), along with their three youngest children Colin 13 Mary 8 Allan 2, came from Inverness Scotland. They arrived in Port Adeliade, Australia on the 19/10/1852 on the ship Medina which departed from Liverpool, England. Their oldest three children Bella(maybe short for Isbella/Elizabeth) Margaret and John remained behind in Scotland. It is believed that they spent the next 10 or so years in Adeliade. They ended up in Victoria in the mid 1860s, family info is he did a bit of gold digging. Mary McDonald m Thomas Clarke 4/6/1868 at Carrisbrook(Vic) and mot of their married life was spent in the western district of Victoria. They had eight children, I'm a descendant of Mary's. According to the shipping records he was ninety years old when he died. His death certificate, however states he was 101 at death. He would'nt have been the first to lower his age to gain entry to Aus then. Ronald d 22/11/1884 and is buried at Drumborg(Dairy)Victoria. Catherine is biried at Clunes(Vic) To my knowledge the older three children stayed in Scotland, family info said they did corresspond but the letters if there were any have been misplaced or lost over the years. I've sort of come to a brick wall and would appreciate some direction to continue . Qs Is there a way I could find her maiden name(don't have a year/place of marriage) Don't know where they may have lived in Inverness How would I try and locate the older three children Ronald's parents, where would I start to Look(don't know there names) I would be most gratful for any help form anyone Kind regards Maureen McKay Swan Hill Victoria Aus ----------------------------------------------------- Click here for Free Video!! http://www.gohip.com/free_video/ ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, June 17, 2001 7:00 PM Subject: SCOTLAND-GENWEB-D Digest V01 #56
