Hi, I'm a new subscriber and fairly new to this, and would appreciate some help. I'm searching for my grandfather's half-brother, William HALL. He was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1872, and in 1891 was an Apprentice Riveter in the Shipyard. He moved to Scotland late 1800's/early 1900's, but I don't know where. I would think because of his job it would probably be in the Glasgow area, but can't be sure. His father was also a William and his mother Mary Ann WILLIAMSON, although she died when he was 2. His father remarried Elizabeth DAVISON when he was 9/10 and he had 5 half-brothers/sisters, John 1884, Lily 1886, Anthony 1888, Manie 1890 and Kate about 1892/3. We last heard about him in about 1924 when he visited Newcastle and my grandfather, Anthony, told my father "the big friendly Scotsman, wearing a kilt, was his Uncle Willie". Also, I'm looking for my great-great grandfather, Anthony HALL, who although lived in North Northumberland, married someone called Mary Ann from Castlegate, Berwickshire. Anthony was born in 1812/3 in Lucker, Northumberland, and the family were Presbyterian. He married about 1841/2 (eldest son born 1842/3) and possibly married in Scotland.
