Hello Annette, your post about Strathmiglo reminded me of a schoolfriend who stayed in a section of the village called Cash Feus . Seemingly Johnny Cash shot a Christmas Country and Western T.V. show there in the 60's as he believed that this was where his family came from. The neighbouring village to Strathmiglo is Auchtermuchty which was the home of the Scottish accordion legend Jimmy Shand ( the Bluebell Polka etc ) until his recent death. Jimmy was known affectionately as the Laird o'Muchty . regards, Lovat Fraser, Edinburgh .Scotland. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: Annette Pringle To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, June 15, 2001 10:39 AM Subject: [SCOTS~GEN] 1851 Strathmiglo Census Apology I was so excited to receive the above transcriptions from Drew, that in my haste to share some of the names that had come up on the list recently, I clean forgot to give credit (copyright) to Drew, who has done a magnificent job. He also went to a lot of trouble to copy and paste the information in several e-mails because I could not seem to get the hang of opening the downloaded information. Drew, I humbly apologise for my oversight. Annette in Dubbo NSW ______________________________
