Can anyone tell me if there has been, or is being any research on the Scottish Highlands from the early 1700's to the 1800's. I am looking form information on Raibeart ( Robert ) Mc Kay my 4g Grandfather who was between 1730 an 1760 an served in the 42 Highland Regiment. He served with that Regiment during the Amer. Rev. War. Looking for the Paternal linage, and the Parish in which he was from. Regards Marv.
