My search for my 'brick wall' relies has led me from Italy to Stafford to Lancashire and now to Scotland! Searching for any information about FERRIE (possibly Alberto) originally born in Italy approximately 1850. This Alberto was one of three, or possibly 4 brothers, who came from Italy in around 1865 - one brother (Dominic) settled in Liverpool, and one (Ralph, my great-grandfather) settled in Stafford. The spelling of FERRIE has remained consistent throughout, so at the moment I believe this to be the correct spelling (ie not FERRI). Unfortunately, I have been unable to find marriage records for Dominic or Ralph, although I do have copies of their children's birth certificates. The marriage records, of course, would have led me to the brothers' fathers name and hopefully place of birth (which is variously recorded on census information as Naples or Rome). I've made contact with descendants of Dominic, who state that family legend says that at least one brother, Alberto, went to live in Scotland and there may have been a marriage to a lady named FERGUSON.
