Hi Lynn: You, no doubt, will receive many answers to your query, here is mine. When the couple were born in different parishes very often the marriage was registered in both. As Elizabeth was recorded as Betty on June 9, 1815, in Halkirk, it may have been a member of her family - who knew her as "Betty" who informed the Registrar of the marriage. In any case, you have the name of two parishes to search, for their birth records. Hope this was helpful.
