This will sound very strange but I am trying to locate my Great Grandparents and it is possible that they traveled to Scotland for work around 1900-1901. I have searched high and low in England and they cannot be found although 2 of their children (Mabel and James) are located with my Great Grandmother's parents. Could someone please help me with a 1901 census look up on the following individuals.... Husband: James PITT born in 1869 in Portsea, Southampton, England Wife: Maria born 1869 in Portsea, Southampton, England Children: Albany, Mabel, Maude, Fred, Edith, James James occupation was a master plasterer and in 1907 traveled to Canada and the United States for work as a Plasterer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance... Jenina Halitsky USA
Jenina I wonder if he was a soldier before he became a plasterer. There were army barracks at Portsea - my g-grandfather was staioned there for a while. I found his children's births there as well as in Malta and Dublin - obviously places he was posted. It is worth your while considering this possibility.
