My Benjamin ROSS stopped in Lincoln Co, NC at least long enough to get married to Saphira FRIZZELL (who was born in VA) then eventually moved on to Morganton area, Burke Co, NC. Benjamin ROSS was born 14 Aug 1766 in (unknown),Scotland to Rueben ROSS and Priscilla (unknown surname) and died between 1841 and 1850 in Burke co, NC. One of Benjamin Ross and Saphira Frizzell's children was Reuben M. ROSS born ?? 1797 in Lincoln co, NC d. ?? Reuben M. ROSS married Deborah ENGLAND 17 Dec 1817. Reuben was a teacher. They had many children, one of whom was William Ross b. ??1829 , Burke Co, NC d. ???, Burke co, NC William ROSS married Mary Ann DENTON and one of their children was Anderson Denton ROSS b. 2 feb 1858 Maroganton, Burke co, NC d. 11 Oct. 1911 same place. I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer in trying to locate where in Scotland my Benjamin ROSS is from. Also, I have 2 books : "Carolina Scots " by Douglas Kelly and "Scots-Irish in the Carolinas" by Billy Kennedy. There are no Ross mentioned in the first book but there are 2 mentioned in the latter : Robert Ross and John Ross. Thanks again, Audrey
